Workshop I
Compellingly Attractive Chapter Meetings—
Shifting to Priorities that Vitalize
Compellingly attractive chapter meetings are the
heartbeat of viability
and the prerequisite for growth.
The heartbeat of viability”—that’s important.
What does it take for a chapter to become compellingly attractive
among the many choices for a man’s discretionary time? You’re
going to love the answers—they are creative, educational, energizing,
easy to do and fun!
This first workshop [CACM] is about priorities, methods and vision:
Priorities—It teaches what priorities are necessary
for chapters to thrive—not different goals—different priorities
to achieve chapter goals;
Methods—It provides and demonstrates over thirty
new tools and activities based on the new priorities to create compelling
attractiveness;
Vision—It instills believability and hope by framing
the activities within a pathway vision of near-term and long-term success.
Here are some high points from the workshop:

How to generate the results you want by adjusting near-term priorities.

How to live the seven Deal-breaker Characteristics into chapter identity.

How to seek, develop, use and enhance the skills and talents of each member.

How to cut song-learning time at least by half.

How to infuse chapter meetings with creativity, education, efficiency, progress
and fun through impressive participative leadership methods.

How to get started, implement over time and measure progress.

How to compellingly attract and retain members.

How to build a highly successful Barbershop organization.
During the workshop, participants interact as members of a chapter. They
are given roles and create over a dozen chapter meeting scenarios. In this
way, the many new tools and activities get demonstrated and experienced.
Bart Van De Mark is a retired top airline executive. While serving as Sunshine
District Membership VP, he participated in the CACM workshop twice. Here’s
what he wrote:

The workshop was as well planned as any I've seen, ever—barbershop
or professionally. The concept and his reasoning were appealing. It was
fast-paced, logical, innovative, and participatory. It was an eye-opener
for everyone. I highly recommend the program. It's a fresh approach to revitalizing
our hobby. And it was a heck of a lot of FUN!"
That pretty much says it.
So…do something truly wonderful for your chapter—send your
Director and a few other leaders to a CACM workshop. Chapter life can become
great!
