In late October, 2007, a "Compellingly Attractive Chapter Meetings" workshop
was held in Richmond, Virginia. Dean Martin, at that time President
of the Frederick, MD Chapter, was among the participants. Dean maintains
a Barbershopping podcast website:
www.singingbarbershop.com. He interviewed
workshop facilitator Chuck Greene the week after the workshop and posted
the interview on the website.
Dean entitled the interview "Revitalizing the Barbershop Harmony Society." Topics explored include:
research on causes of chapter and Society decline;
development and beta-testing of turn-around strategies;
workshop teaching and training methods;
core premises of and activities for building a thriving chapter;
a pathway for Society revitalization.A few notes:
1. The interview has popular value—over 1400 downloads
in the first 8 months.
2. Information brought up is still current with one
exception: some workshop follow-up methods
