Believability

We have proof. From Martin-St. Lucie, Florida to Asheville, North Carolina to Kingston, Ontario, the chapters who actively use the strategies from the workshops are enjoying success. Beginning in January, 2006, beta-testing in the Asheville, NC Chapter has resulted in eye-popping statistics. Records on active membership have been kept as the measure of success—"active" defined as "participating regularly in chapter meetings." To start, Asheville had 26 active members, average age 67, of which 18 or 19 might be present on a given meeting night.

Within 24 months:

The chapter saw active membership increase by over 60%.
The average age of active members dropped by 9 years.
Over 70% of the prospective members who visited a meeting joined.
Retention became automatic.

In July, 2008—30 months into the program—Asheville Chapter's active membership reached 52, double the active membership since beta-testing began. Meeting attendance started averaging over 40. The growth was organic—no membership drives, no advertising blitzes, just building a compellingly attractive organization.

Many members have told us that these are the best meetings we've ever had. We all agree we're getting more done and having more fun! We highly recommend Chuck Greene's workshop titled "Compellingly Attractive Chapter Meetings"—and his approach to chapter development—to any chapter, regardless of skills or goals"
~ Keith Hopkins, Florida

Back in 2006, when beta-testing began, it did not take long to notice the strategies were working. Evidences were noted in the first 3 months, and by the end of the year, it was overwhelmingly obvious. At the beginning of 2007, the question was raised, "Is Asheville a special case, or will these strategies work most anywhere so other chapters can enjoy similar success?"

To answer that question, a workshop—“Compellingly Attractive Chapter Meetings” (CACM)—was developed as the first in a series of three workshops designed to train chapter leaders what to do to get their chapters thriving. The CACM workshop has been given to chapter leaders in Sunshine, Seneca Land, Ontario, Mid-Atlantic and Cardinal Districts as well as Asheville’s home Dixie District. Many participants—like Keith Hopkins quoted from his letter to some Sunshine District Chapters—have written about the workshop and their post-workshop experiences. The strategies simply work. The beta-test chapter is not a unique case. So far, the strategies work in 100% of the chapters who have fully embraced the program.

And that raises a few more questions: "How can our leaders get the training? Are workshops available in our area? What's involved in hosting one?"
